K2. It’s a WordPress theme — it’s what gives this site the spiffy comment roll-up thing when you post your comments, and the live search, and the live archives, plus some extras for us admins. I love it, but I’m having a hard time with one (or maybe it’s two) of the plugins.
The problem: the ELA, slidebar for pages at the top, and the live search do not work (and neither does the snazzy comment Ajax thing) when I set permalinks to date and name format; they only work in the default format.
Maybe I screwed up the ajax code?
From what I can tell, it is something in the templates, as I’ve tried the default CSS files and the page still ends up all fuckered up. Maybe I changed something in the index or sidebar? My next task for the coming week is to compare my templates against the originals and see if there are major differences.
Other than that, I’m at a loss. I have the current versions of K2 and ELA, etc., so, there you have it.
I’ve enlisted the geekery help of The Partner in this problem. He had me create a new install of K2, like is suggested on the mb, but that didn’t change matters. He thinks something may have gotten fucked in my database, which will require more scrutiny from his eyes, and is nothing that a fresh install can fix.
Right now, I’m saying “Fuck this,” and sticking with this, my original theme, which never gave me any problems, but of course doesn’t have any snazzy ajax moves.
le sigh.
I greatly appreciate your help, though. I’ve been searching those mbs for a few days now, to no avail.
K2?

Did you get whatever to work? Maybe I could help. I had to hunt down and edit some code to get my installation to do what I wanted.
JC, no, I haven’t gotten it to work.

I see. That may be beyond my pale. Does this help at all?
