Geeks In Relationships

Me: Dude, you can’t use caps in your XHTML code.

The Partner: I can use whatever I want.

Me: No you can’t, not if you want your site to be accessible in the year thirty-one hundred.

The Partner: Did you just hear what you said?

    I haven’t done any serious coding in ages but, yeah, I’m guilty of using caps. Mostly when making notes to myself so that I’ll be able to find them in all the goobledigook. I don’t really think this will be a problem as I’m sure by then people will just be living in some weird hive-mind mentality anyway and the news/info will be delivered as if by magic directly into their brains. I gotta say, I’m not jealous of that. :D

    Me: I’m totally blogging this.

    @Pea: Comments can be any style you want. The Partner was guilty of using all-caps in the comments, such as A HREF="..." instead of a href="...".

    I think I’d like the ability to search the Internet via my mind any time I needed to, as long as I could turn it off. I would hate to get ads randomly put in my head, for instance.

    @Lauren: Correct.

    For some reason, I laughed pretty hard when I read this. I could definitely see this conversation actually happening.

    He’s stubborn like that. I remember when he was teaching me HTML back in the day and he was all set in his ways of how things had to be done. Stubborn, stubborn, stubborn. HAHAHA.

    He did teach me the value of writing neat code though.

    caps are so 1999

  7. Yeah. I suppose I need to make my code more compliant. I’ll find something that will make it all lower case.

    Damn standard organizations! ;-)
