X-FAILS
I don’t remember the last time I was this disappointed by a movie.
I don’t think I can even finish the series now.
Throwing a psychic into the mix does not make the movie X-File-y. Why was it so disjointed? Why were they living together? All was forgiven?? And why was it so religious??
What the fuck.

I never got into the series and I was curious if that would affect the movie experience. For some reason I was mildly interested in seeing the movie but I’m not hearing great things about it so I think this one is going to be a pass. Especially after seeing what you thought of it.
@pea: No, do not see it. Do not even rent it or borrow it from a library. The first movie was superb, this one shit.
You should go see Wall-E to restore your faith in bigscreen movies.
I swear, it was like they just had this story line, and thought “hmmm, if we put a psychic in it, we can create a tenuous (at best) link to the X-Files, and then everyone will come see this shitty movie”. Grrr…
See, I’m so out of the X-Files loop that I didn’t even realize there was a first movie. Clearly I need to stay an X-Files virgin.
@pea: You should see the first movie. It’s entertaining.
I want to believe I didn’t waste my time, but I KNOW I did! AHHH! This is exactly why I don’t like going to the theatre. Luckily we paid the early evening price of five dollars.
Damn Gillian Anderson.
Damn David Duchovny.
And especially damn Frank Spotnitz and Chris Carter for making this horrible film.
EPIC FAIL!
I don’t know how a movie based on one of my all time favorite shows could leave me feeling so disillusioned, disgruntled, and seriously considering selling my X-Files barbies on eBay.
That said, if they come out with another movie, I know I’ll be in line at the theatres in a heart beat.
What can I say, I guess I like the punishment.
@aaron: Everybody’s been talking about that movie but I just can’t bring myself to go watch it. Maybe I’ll borrow it from the library when it comes out.
@Amanda: I know! He was the only X-File-esque part!
@pea: I can’t knock the first movie. I own it it was that good.
@The Partner: Ha!
@Emily: Well now, I wouldn’t get too carried away. Burning your X-Files dolls might not be the best revenge.
I’m not too sure I would go to the theatre to see a 3rd movie. They burned me with this one, so I’d wait until DVD release.
Also, you are totally brave admitting to the Internets that you have X-File dolls!
