This is a bilingual text—great for helping your child(ren) learn Spanish (or English).

Los Tres Cerdos: Nacho, Tito y Miguel is an excellent version of the three little pigs. The re-teller, author and illustrator Bobbi Salinas, describes it as a “nonviolent” version as none of the characters are killed or seriously injured.

The story is familiar, with some twists, and the illustrations are simply wonderful. Even though the three pigs are masculine in gender, their surroundings (such as art on their walls or books in their bookcases) concern women in history and women in general (for example, one of the brothers has a picture of “Mona Frida”).

I thoroughly enjoyed it.
