Actually not a bad movie at all! Read reviews likening it to The Matrix, but this film had a much different feel to it. I liked the breaking of the fourth wall.

Many of the lines were cheesy. Some of the acting was straight up bad. Watched it in segments during various dinners. I don't think it would be good in one sitting. Some scenes did make me laugh.

Triangle (2009)

I had no expectations coming into this movie. Some parts freaked me out--as in, you don't know what's coming so it's scaring you. On the whole, an interesting film. I'm not sure I understood the ending.

Beginning scene is not great--just makes me feel really uncomfortable. Getting over this part, though, the movie was good. The ending was a SEVERE let-down. -

The Wolfman (2010)
3.5/5
There were a couple parts that made me chuckle, not because they were intended to be funny, but because either the effects were bad, the movie cut in an awkward way, or the lines were cheesey. These were minor problems, though. Overall, I thought it was okay. The ending was left open somewhat, which usually means they left it so for the possibility of a sequel. There should be no sequel to this film. Wait for DVD and watch it when you're bored. Sorry, Benicio.

3.5/5
Found out there is an Alfred Hitchcock original version of this movie--I'll have to check it out.

This version was okay. A few parts made me laugh, but I think the last half hour of the movie could have been improved. I didn't quite expect that ending, so I'll have to see how Hitchcock did it. -

The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008)
3/5
I did not have any expectations. I have never seen the 1951 original and after viewing this one, I wonder at going backwards---I think the special effects go a long way for this story.
0.3
It was an okay movie, but I don't think I'll watch it again. -

Carriers (2009)

What the disease is or how it all started are never explained, and they don't really need to be in order for this film to be successful. It's quite enjoyable.

The Other Boleyn Girl (2008)
2.5/5

This version of the Boleyn sisters' story is quite different from the BBC version(s). King Henry does not seem as much in love with Anne as in the other versions. I would not watch this again, whereas I love to watch the BBC versions. -

He Was a Quiet Man (2007)
1.5/5
The DVD stopped playing about half-way in, and I did not try to finish it. It opens with Slater's character doing a voice-over regarding how great it used to be (as in the 1950s) when men were men, before women's lib. Not a great start. It was also rather boring. I did not like this film and was disappointed, as I like Slater.

Rendition (2007)
4/5
I admit I picked up "Rendition" because it has Jake Gyllenhaal in it and I'm a sucker for his eyes. He plays an "observer" with the US government, sent as a replacement to a torture/interview of a terrorism suspect. Reese Witherspoon was, surprisingly, not a ditz in this film, but I felt her character was rather insignificant to the whole plot. Aramis Knight was good, although his character did not speak much, unless you count the screaming and groaning. I think this film gives a good statement on governmental torture, illegal seizure of citizens/residents, and government disavowal. I really wanted someone to smack Meryl Streep's character.

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (2008)
1.5/5
Eh. It's so hard to make a great trilogy. This one is much worse than the first and second. They changed the wife! The wife is not played by the same actor! I HATE THIS. It was also very hokey. And, the women had to be Helpless and be saved by the men. Puke. Skip it.

Although there is a child actor in this movie, it is so not appropriate for children. Jim Carrey is, I guess, Jim Carrey in this movie. I watched it again recently and I didn't much care for it. Crappy White entertainment mixed with sexism pushed off as comedy.

I had no inclination to ever watch this epic film, but I received this as a gift and was bored one day. I did not realize/remember there were three parts to it, so I was pissed at having to wait until I got the second movie to finish the story. 3.5/5
This adaptation did not follow the story. That was disappointing.
0.3
The meaning of Robert Neville being a legend is totally skewed in this version. Also, religion played no part in the story; that was apparently added to boost audience numbers for the movie.
Still, if you are a fan of apocalyptic films, this should be seen at least once. Some scenes did make me jump.

A comedy in which a rich white dude turns poor and a poor black dude turns rich, then they both turn rich while two other white dudes turn poor. It was the Eighties. -

My favorite out of the trilogy, even though they couldn't get the same Jennifer. You get the past, present, and future all in one film. But flying cars by 2015? October, 1988

From this film I learned to never join the army nor date anybody that is in the army. Goldie Hawn's character flip-flops between smart and stupid, and that gets annoying. -

In the Eighties this was fantastic. I still watch it from time to time, but the technology is severely dated. I think that's part of the appeal.
